Why this bundle works for no-dig and low-till gardening
Use the Broadfork to open and aerate the soil deeply without inversion—keeping soil life and structure intact. Then use the Roto Hoe to refine the top layer: it crumbles surface clods, uproots young weeds, and leaves an even finish that’s ready for sowing or transplanting.
How to use the Broadfork + Roto Hoe together
- Loosen the bed with the Broadfork to improve drainage, root penetration, and overall soil health.
- Make a quick pass with the Roto Hoe to break up the top few centimetres of soil and remove small weeds.
- Plant into a fluffy, aerated bed that stays easier to maintain throughout the season.

Tool details
Broadfork
The Broadfork is a core tool for regenerative and no-dig gardening. It aerates compacted soil without disrupting structure, supporting soil biology and organic matter.
The five-tine design uses flat, laser-cut steel tines for efficient penetration. With a 65 cm working width, it covers a standard 75 cm bed in a single pass for faster, more consistent bed prep. Handles are made from high-quality hornbeam wood and are sold separately.
Built for serious growers, the reinforced structure and high-strength materials are designed for season-after-season use. Despite its durability, it remains comfortable to handle at approximately 6 kg with handles.
Roto Hoe
The Roto Hoe is designed for quick surface cultivation and weeding after broadforking. It loosens the top layer while keeping deeper soil life undisturbed—creating an optimal seedbed and removing young weeds in the same pass.
The rotating drum aerates and crumbles the surface, while an adjustable 20 cm carbon steel blade cuts up to 5 cm deep to slice weeds at the root. After a quick rake, the bed is level and ready for planting.
FAQ
Is this suitable for true “no-dig” systems?
Yes—this is a soil-friendly, low-till approach. The Broadfork loosens without inversion, and the Roto Hoe works the surface only.
